Holistic Sound Practitioner

What is a Holistic Sound Practitioner?

A holistic sound practitioner is a skilled professional who employs sound as a therapeutic tool for overall well-being.

Trained in various sound modalities like gongs, bowls, and voice, they blend ancient traditions with modern neuroscience.

By understanding the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, these practitioners guide individuals through personalised sound experiences, promoting relaxation, healing, and self-discovery.

Holistic sound practitioners create a harmonious environment, leveraging sound vibrations to address physical, emotional, and spiritual imbalances, fostering a sense of wholeness and vitality in their clients.

This course is accredited by the Complimentary Medical Association and upon completion you will be able to join the CMA as a member and use the credentials MCMA after your name.

About the Practitioner Disciplines

Our Holistic Sound Practitioner training offers five distinct disciplines. You may choose to qualify in one or multiple pathways depending on your interests and professional goals:

Gong

The gong produces deep, resonant tones that facilitate profound relaxation, meditative states, and energetic clearing. This is a double-weekend training due to its depth and technical requirements.

Singing Bowls

Himalayan and crystal singing bowls generate harmonic overtones that calm the mind, soothe the nervous system, and balance the chakras.

Voice

Toning, mantra, overtone singing, and intuitive vocalisation use the vibration of the human voice to clear energy and support emotional release.

Drum

Drumming promotes grounding, rhythm regulation, emotional expression, and altered states of consciousness for healing and journeying.

Applied Frequency

This modality uses targeted sound frequencies—often via tuning forks—to support physical healing, energetic alignment, and cellular recalibration.

Qualification Requirements

  • Complete the Principles of Sound Healing (PoSH) core training (live online, including supervision, Q&A, and exam).
  • Attend your chosen Practitioner Weekend(s):
    • Gong – counts as 2 weekends.
    • All other disciplines – 1 weekend each.
